Les Hauts de Castelmaure
corbieres
Embres-et-Castelmauredorp is a small village south of Corbières, with about 150 inhabitants, all of whom are families of grape growers. The local cooperative makes this wine from grapes hand-picked from 760 local plots, with vines up to 80 years old.
An expressive and open nose, full of jam from dams and notes of cassis, and that unmistakable 'garrigue' aroma of heather and wild thyme. Lots of body and soft, ripe tannins. A great all round wine to drink alone or with Food . Ideal with beef daube, casseroles and other soft red meats.
