Red Cote du Rhone

Cotes du Rhone is an elongated area along the Rhone , most wines are grown in the southernmost part, a common grape variety in the Rhone area is Syrah, Grenache Noir, Viognier , Roussanne, Marsanne, they try to lower the alcohol content a bit to to get a more light and fruity wine, the Maceration Carbonique vinification technique is increasingly being applied here, making the wines drinkable earlier. From Lyon, the Rhône River travels approximately 240 kilometers to the Mediterranean Sea. Because of the great differences in soil and climate, the Rhône is divided into a northern and a southern part.
