Red Veneto

In the north east of Italy lies the Veneto wine region, enclosed by Lake Garda, the Alps and the river Po. In the Veneto there is a Mediterranean climate and the mountains offer shelter for the grapes against the cold air currents. In the Veneto we find famous wines such as Amarone and Ripasso from the Valpolicella area . The main red grape varieties from the Veneto are the Carmenere, Corvina , Corvinone, Molinara , and Rondinella . The Veneto is known as the largest wine producer in Italy with a wide variety of wines of very high quality.
