Description
Baron d Alsace
Pinot Gris
Baron d'Alsace wines are made by Cave de Turckheim . The cellars are located just outside the picturesque town of Turckheim, where a cozy medieval atmosphere still prevails. The vineyards are located on sun-drenched slopes, mostly facing south. The climate here is therefore perfect for viticulture. The Vosges form a natural protection against cool westerly winds, and in the warm and usually dry late summer, the grapes for the Baron d'Alsace wines have every opportunity to develop their full aroma richness.
Alsatian wines are named after the grape variety (cépage) from which they are made. White grapes dominate: riesling, gewurztraminer, pinot gris, pinot blanc, sylvaner, muscat. The only blue Grape , from which a delicate light red wine is made, is the pinot noir. Cave de Turckheim knows how to make a full, expressive wine with characteristic aromas from each Grape .
