Very concentrated nose with notes of ripe red fruit, mineral nuances and herbs. Great balance between fruit, terroir and oak. The taste is soft, elegant with silky sultry tannins with a persistent aftertaste.

Bodega Godelia

Bodegas Godelia was born at the end of 2009 from the enthusiasm of the García Rodriguez family to develop Bierzo viticulture, to generate value and future in the region.

Located in the town of Pieros (Cacabelos, León), we remain continuously committed to the El Bierzo region, restoring old vines from Mencía, Godello and Doña Blanca and using them for our productions. Responsible viticulture plays a fundamental role within our philosophy, moving away from the use of herbicides in the vineyard and working with natural plant covers on the soil, creating living soil by activating its microbial life.

In Godelia we have about 50 hectares of vineyards, spread over different areas covered by the Bierzo DOP, with different altitudes and orientations. Vineyards between 25 and 100 years old, located on slate, pebble, quartzite and clay soils. All work in the vineyard is done manually, with manual harvests during the day in small 15 kg boxes. Upon arrival at the winery, each variety passes through a double manual selection table and undergoes a gentle destemming, which ensures that the grapes are treated with care from selection in the field to placement in stainless steel tanks, barrels or amphorae for the start of fermentation.
