For 20 years, Jean-Claude Giraud was trained at the school of excellence, alongside the best of Pomerol. Former cellar master at Château L'Eglise Clinet, in 1990 he decided to spread his wings, take over the reins from his father and buy Château L'Alouette in 2005.

With his experience gained alongside the very best, "quality whatever the price" remains an integral part of his ethics, he never hesitates to intensify the work in the vineyard and implement a series of handcrafted practices such as frequent manual canopy management and strict harvest selection. About ten years ago, the winery was completely renovated and small capacity tanks were introduced for a more detailed management of top quality packages to make exceptional wines. Château L'Alouette is the fruit of this expertise and is an exceptionally well-made wine, with a touch of softness and refinement that defines the appellation.
